The location on the Riverside is a tropical dream for Europeans. Lots of wild birds singing, some really interesting fish to watch off the extended stilt resto bar (for those that bother to look!), river activity like the huge "trains" of barges in Thailand. Straight out of Joseph Conrad. The guesthouse itself is quirky, very spacious and looks Victorian Colonial. The young guy who handles foreigners, because his English is perfect, is intelligent, and aware of the problems in Ayutthaya post covid. He's very helpful and suggested a restaurant nearby that turned out to be excellent (and I've been visiting Thailand for 35 years). Large beers @ 70 baht!!!!!!!!! Mee, the puppy! The wild looking cat!! One minute from the railway station!!!

Absolutely incredible building, true to the other reviews it's full of antiques, beautiful timber and knick knacks. There are lovely lounging areas, a gorgeous garden and riverside dining room. Stones throw from train station. If you turn right leaving the alley the first eatery on the left is amazing, one Thai woman cook and best fits I've had in Thailand. Fresh and delicious every time, almost missed my train sneaking in one more curry. 3 fans in room but it was nice and cool anyway, shared bathroom can mean a queue but there is a loo downstairs too.

This guesthouse is ideally located right in front of the train station and beside the river. The breakfast offers a good variety at a very reasonable price, and you can enjoy it on a terrace with a fantastic view of the river. Boat trips are conveniently just a short walk away. The interior has a cozy vibe with its wooden finishes, making some rooms with wooden walls stand out. The staff are really friendly and helpful with booking visits to the Ayutthaya ruins and planning other trips. Also, there are some nice restaurants within walking distance.

The house is right on the river. The verandah over looking the river is a great place to sit and watch boats go by.We picked downstairs as we struggle with stairs and wanted our own bathroom.Up stairs is in its original state and gorgeous. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable.5 minute walk from the train station And the Station Pier is a minute walk.We caught the boat from here to go over to look at the market and sight see.The staff are very friendly. The owner is on site.Lovely woman and very helpful

We had a lovely stay. The host was great, he gave us an overview of the area as well as booking us a boat tour and our transfer to Kanchanaburi for the next morning. We arrived at 5am from the train and were able to drop our bags off and use the toilets/ shower etc as check in wasn't til 12. There was hot water in the shower. Some drinking water was provided but more bottles and breakfast were also available to buy cheaply. The guesthouse was a 1 minute walk away from the station and didn't feel unsafe arriving.
